MASTER PLANS

If you've read my tutorial on field plans, here comes the next step: master plans. You can't plan a big domino project with more than 50,000 dominoes without them. A master plan shows not only the fields, but also all connection lines. Plan it in such a way that you have easy numbers to calculate with. Using the metric system, a master plan is scaled 1:33, so 1 cm on the paper are 33 cm in reality. That's because 1 meter includes 100 cm, so roughly three times 33 cm. That means that on the plan, 3 cm and therefore six blocks on squared paper represent 1 m. One meter again includes sixty dominoes - so one square on the paper includes 10 dominoes. That makes it easy to calculate and see at first sight how long a line has to be.
